Shop the basics

These should all be investment pieces, as they’re items that tend to never go out of style. Find good quality basics that won’t fall apart after a few wears. The basic items are the staples in your wardrobe, clothes that you will use again and again and know that you can’t go wrong. Vests tops, jeans, shirts, tee shirts, jumpers. Mix and match them with accessories so you can create outfits for any occasion.

Tips for making your capsule:

1. Select 18 core pieces, then glam them up by adding gorgeous accessories like scarves, bags, jewelry and shoes.

  • 6 tops
  • 4 sweaters
  • 4 dresses
  • 2 pairs of jeans
  • 2 pairs of leggings

2. Clear your closet. Stop staring at clothes you can no longer wear,  put away the clothes that don’t fit anymore!  You’ll have a much better idea on what you truly need to complete your mini maternity capsule. By doing this easy step, it will make getting dressed more simple.

3. Use clothes you already have. The idea is to create a maternity capsule you love just as much as your seasonal capsule, keep flowy tops and loose comfy pants you already own and represent you. Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you exclusively have to wear maternity clothes.

4. Buy clothes that are interchangeable. 9 months is a long time,  you’ll be pregnant during 3 different season which means the weather is going to change. So be savvy if you buy any new clothes to fill out your capsule try to purchase items that can be worn through multiple seasons.
